The Cuban archipelago, with a strategic location in the Caribbean, offers foreign visitors and nationals a wide spectrum of attractions that are based on its nature, history and culture.

Coupled with this, there are the traditional sun and beach options, backed by world-famous sites that welcome many of the visitors who come to the Caribbean nation every year.

Cuba's privileged geographical location, in an area of crystal-clear and warm waters, together with the existence of extensive strips of sand, is an attraction that is difficult to resist when arriving in the country.

In some 5,800 kilometers of coastline, there are 600 kilometers of excellent beaches, combined with a tropical climate, from which not even the capital itself escapes.

Actually, its charms are linked to the so-called Blue Circuit, with more than 15 kilometers of coastline, with special emphasis on Santa María del Mar beach.

In addition, nearby Jibacoa captures the attention of visitors, thanks to the peculiar design of a site of calm waters, flanked by elevations up to 100 meters high parallel to the coast, with a pleasant feeling of privacy.

In western Cuba, the famous Varadero beach, with its 22 kilometers of beaches on the Hicacos Peninsula, is at the service of sea lovers with the most varied shades, and which also bathes a strip of fine sand white.

Sites with black sands are also found, like the striking Bibijagua beach on Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth), or brown sand in Marea del Portillo, in the eastern province of Granma.

In central Cuba, the Ancón Peninsula has the best beaches on Cuba's south coast, with seabed of steep relief and with an abundant presence of black corals.

Meanwhile, in Villa Clara, Cayo Santa María holds, in just 13 kilometers, wide areas of practically pristine beaches ready for the delight of the most demanding holidaymakers.

In turn, Jardines del Rey, one of the main tourist destinations in the country, offers visitors 30 kilometers of pristine beaches on Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. On the latter is Pilar beach, named as a tribute to US novelist Ernest Hemingway. It has the tallest sand dunes in the Caribbean, with 15 meters of elevation.

To the east, a perfect combination of fine sand and sea, marked by the proximity of the mountains and the green of the vegetation characterize Guardalavaca beach, considered among the most emblematic in the region.

In addition, in Holguín is Bariay, the point where Admiral Christopher Columbus landed in 1492, as well as famous tourist places such as Esmeralda and Pesquero beaches.
