The Cuban tourism industry, in frank expansion thanks to the richness of the archipelago in the field of nature, culture and history, has as its essential component the options of sun and beach in various areas of its geography. In the wide range of areas of spas stresses in particular Varadero, recognized worldwide fame and with a hotel infrastructure and extrahotelera expansion. Two tens of kilometers of excellent beaches, linked with natural attractions such as caves, virgin keys and transparent waters, are complemented with an extensive infrastructure capable of satisfying the most demanding tastes. The seabed of Varadero possess more than 40 types of corals, diversity of fish, lobsters, shrimps, crabs, turtles and over 70 types of mollusks.

The foundation of the city dates back to 1887, when the first families settled in the area and since the beginning of the last century was built the first accommodation -already disappeared by the passage of years - under the name of the tower. Options include in particular the marine park Cayo stones of the North, ideal for diving, and the Punta Hicacos ecological reserve with its 662 species of birds in the lagoon Mangón, joined to the aboriginal pictographs of the caves of Ambrose and Muslims. The nature shows with pride the more than 300 hectares of Punta Hicacos, with the ruins of the Salina The Skull Marinas as Chapelin, Puertosol Dock of Varadero and Gaviota guarantee the conditions and means for the practice of scuba diving, with appropriate boats, staff prepared, teaching centers of diving, hyperbaric chambers and the necessary transport for any emergency. In addition, the diving account with the offer of the so-called Hoyo Azul del Megano, an enormous cavern of 70 meters diameter, where prevail the submerged walls, barriers of corals and huge shoals of multicolored fish.

The events and meetings also have space in the spa thanks to the Plaza America Convention Center, with a whole for 600 people and seven additional rooms, ideal in those programs that combine the rest with the work in a pleasant and quiet. It also complements its broad housing network (about 38 percent of the plant of hotels on the island) with private houses of lease, restaurants state actors and individuals, as well as transportation services air and land.

Beyond the Beaches, Varadero account with an International Center of skydiving the largest golf course of Cuba (18 hole, par 72), which raises in the San Bernardino crags, where once the millionaire Irenne Du Pont de Nemours installed a field of nine holes for your private enjoyment in an exclusive area of 180 hectares. The Center was designed by the Architect Les Furber, President of the Canadian company Golf Design Services, in a combination of styles, among them the classic, with wide streets bordered by trees, greens widths and little protected. It is noted also the so-called target golf, with narrow streets and heavily protected greens surrounded by sand traps and inner lakes of salt water, the latter in direct communication with the sea, a feature little view in the world.
