The province of Holguin, in the eastern part of the island, has in its geography with unique spaces of beach that combine the possibility to enjoy the warm waters of the sea with a nature in perfect state of conservation. Spas of recognized prestige like Guardalavaca - benefited by the warm climate that invites you to enjoy the waters- are accompanied by small spaces, now turned small treasures of the sea for tourism as the beaches Esmeralda, Yuraguanal and Pesquero. Playa Pesquero is located in the vicinity of the Bay of Naranjo, which has an area of 4.2 square kilometers and an average depth of 6 meters, and stored in its basin about 25 million cubic meters of water. The bay has three lobes, a short channel that communicates with the adjacent sea and a set of Five Cays, the biggest of which is in its central portion called Jutia. In its west margin presents various inlets and peninsulas and the estuary of Arroyo de Oro, while in the south there are a number of inbound and outbound calls and leads the Río Naranjo.
In addition, is surrounded by more than a thousand 200 hectares of natural forests that contain some 600 species - many of them endemic - in particular the area of Coastal Cuabal. Around the bay there are many ecotourism trails, in addition to aquariums, a dolphinarium and scenarios dedicated to the implementation of environmental projects.
In Pesquero there is also a hotel installation - one of the biggest of the island - located in the middle of an exuberant and polychrome vegetation, which allows you to become the perfect place for leisure. In this way, is presented with a design that reproduces elements of the sugar culture and of the rail network in the region, including as shown by the most old locomotive that operated in the area.
