The province of Villa Clara, located in the central area of the greater one of the Antilles, stands in a tourist destination par excellence for the passengers who travel on the island, both in the options of beach and nature. The city of Santa Clara - capital of the territory- stands as a site of legend and history, transmitted by monuments and old buildings that collected more than three centuries of history of the unique city. Its emergence was linked to interests of an economic nature, which led to the new settlement in July 1689 in the herd of Ciego de Santa Clara, belonging then to Antonio Diaz and Pavia. As in most of the Cuban cities, in Santa Clara development had its center in the Plaza de Armas, also called subsequently - among other denominations- Park Recreation, until the final name of the Leoncio Vidal Park. Declared a National Monument at the end of the nineties of last century, the area further welcomes important monumental works that recall events of the struggles for independence of the greater one of the Antilles in more than a century.
