Description
The Xanadu Mansion, which stands majestically on Peñas de San Bernardino, in the world-famous beach resort of Varadero, is a must for the members of the Varadero Golf Club. Designed in 1927 by the architects Cavarrocas y Govantes, the name of the mansion is related to a poem that describes the wonderful palace that belonged to Emperor Kublai Khan, the legendary warrior and conqueror of China. The building stands out due to its excellent location by the beach and the use of precious timber in its construction, including mahogany and cedar, which is combined with marble from Cuba, Spain and Italy.
